New York City • Black Out 2003 Dark Canyon
Yes people saw numerous stars and constellations, down to approximately fifth magnitude in the relatively dark sky. Normally only first or maybe second magnitude stars are visible. On the streets, between the avenues, it was pitch dark. I couldn't even see my feet. Afterward, people asked me, "How did you get around in the darkness?" I replied, "I've worked in darkrooms for 25 years, so I know how to get around in a totally dark environment." back to City main page |
